Our Pastor
Rev. Lantz G. Mills, Sr. Pastor
Rev. Lantz G.Mills, Sr. entered the ministry in 2000 under the leadership and nurturing of his father, the Rev. Dr. Larry G. Mills. After accepting God’s call, Pastor Mills was licensed and ordained by his father at the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Orlando, Florida. Eight years later, he was called as Pastor of the New Dayspring Missionary Baptist Church, Inc. in Lake City, Florida.
Prior to NDS, Pastor Mills other pastoral assignments included the following churches; Interim Pastor of the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Longwood, Florida and assistant to the Pastor at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church where he began directing the choir and leading the church in praise and worship. Pastor Mills attended Morehouse College and Belhaven University. He holds an undergraduate degree in Business Management and a Master’s in Business Administration. Currently he is pursuing a Masters of Theological Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida.
Pastor Mills was born in Detroit, Michigan to Rev. Dr. Larry G. Mills and Mrs. Judy Ward. He graduated in 1991 from West Orange High School, Winter Garden, Florida. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Upon completion of the Corps, Pastor Mills decided to further his education.
A life filled with an array of ups and downs, successes and failures, Pastor Mills learned to trust in the Lord with all his heart. He is blessed with a creative, yet energetic style of communicating the gospel to the young as well as the seasoned.
Pastor Mills was raised in the church and became an active participant at an early age, serving in various capacities. Since then, he has continued to be an active presence in the worship service. He is indeed a young man with a vision to spread the Gospel.
On December 19, 2008 Pastor Mills answered the call to become Pastor of the New Dayspring Missionary Baptist Church. In a short period of time God has proven himself through this ministry. Under his leadership, NDS has been the fastest growing ministry in Lake City, various ministries have been added, 10.5 acres of land was purchased for future growth with a focus on outreach, youth development, performing arts, and the worship experience.
Pastor Mills is relentless in community involvement. He is passionate about spreading the Gospel to the underprivileged and the unsaved. His vision for outreach to the community is being recognized daily.
Pastor Mills' model scripture is Matthew 6:33, But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Pastor Mills is a proud father and a loving husband to his wife Lady Lakisha Mills.
